The "Stress Headache" Can Be Mild or Severe 

Tension HeadacheProbably the most common type of headache is the Tension Headache. When the muscles in your face, neck, or scalp are tensed for a period of time, the result can be tension headaches. Some of the causes of this headache are:

Tension and Stress
Staying in one position for a long time
Depression and Anxiety
Certain Foods Such As Chocolate or Coffee
Excessive Noise
Alcohol
Injuries
Medications
Hormone Fluctuations Such as PMS or Menopause
Fatigue

There are really no tests to determine if you have a tension type headache. The best course of action if you have a headache is to try to relax. Here are some things that may help to alleviate and avoid getting a headache.

Rest in a quiet dark room may help lessen headache
Try to eat healthy and don't skip meals
Make sure you are getting enough sleep
Alcohol can cause headaches
Regular exercise keeps blood flowing and may reduce the instances of a headache
